Zusammenfassung
In vielen Fällen ist es schwierig oder unmöglich, komplexe Systeme exakt mathematisch zu modellieren und zu analysieren. Simulation ist dann oft die einzige praktikable Möglichkeit für eine Systemanalyse. Dies gilt z.B. auch für Kommunikationsnetze in der Prozeßautomatisierung. Wird FDDI als Kommunikationsnetz eingesetzt, sind Zuverlässigkeitsuntersuchungen und Rechtzeitigkeitsuntersuchungen notwendig, um bei extremen Lastsituationen und zeitkritischen Anwendungen die Rechtzeitigkeit von Reaktionen innerhalb vorgegebener und vorhersagbarer Zeitschranken garantieren zu können. Die Simulation des FD DI-Rings soll die Entwicklung von Tuningalgorithmen für ein FDDI Realzeitkommunikationsnetz unterstützen.
