Abstract
The authors drew their inspiration from the suggestions of Aebi et al. [1], at the 1987 Basel symposium, to combine several biomaterials together in order to provide an environment in which osteocartilagenous cells can differentiate and develop [2–4]. It is thus possible to get cortical, medullary or cartilagenous tissue, according to the demands of the environment, and to reconstruct a complex bone structure which is adapted to the required function [5].
