Zusammenfassung
Lokal fortgeschrittene und rezidivierte Rektumkarzinome wurden mit chirurgischer Resektion, Vor- oder Nachbestrahlung, intraoperativer Stahlenthera- pie (IORT) und Chemotherapie behandelt. Die IORT erlaubt eine lokale Boost-Thera- pie bei vertretbaren Komplikationsraten. Bei einer Nachbeobachtungszeit von 12–18 Monaten wird die Lokalrezidivrate gesenkt.
Summary
Locally advanced or recurrent rectal carcinoma were surgically resected and intraoperatively irradiated in addition to pre- or postoperative external beam irradiation with or without the administration of chemotherapy. Intraoperative irradiation permitted high local boost doses with tolerable side effects. The rate of local recurrence was reduced after a follow-up period of 12–18 months.
