Zusammenfassung
Die Phototherapie hat sich als äußerst wirksame Be handlungsmethode einer Reihe von Hautkrankhei ten einen festen Platz in der dermatologischen The rapie gesichert. Das Hauptaugenmerk richtet sich nun auf die Verringerung von möglichen Langzeit nebenwirkungen, insbesondere der Photokarzinogenese. Dies mag einerseits durch eine erhöhte Wirk samkeit der Therapie unter der Erschließung neuer Lichtquellen und andererseits durch die Kombina tion der Bestrahlung mit anderen Therapiemodali täten erzielt werden. Abgesehen von der klassischen Phototherapie mit verschiedenen UV-Strahlungs qualitäten scheint sich nun auch die photodynamische Therapie von Hauttumoren mit Porphyrinen oder deren Vorstufen immer mehr als Alternative zu konventionellen Methoden zu etablieren. Der fol gende Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit neuen Entwick lungen auf dem Gerätesektor, mit der Erschließung neuer Indikationen für diese Geräte, mit bestimm ten Kombinationsbehandlungen und schließlich mit den Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der photodynamischen Therapie.
