Abstract

Spiral computed tomography (SCT) of the liver performed during the portal venous phase after contrast medium injection into the superior mesenteric artery or splenic artery (spiral CTAP) is currently considered to be the most sensitive method for preoperative assessment of malignant hepatic tumors (Helmberger et al. 1993; Small et al. 1993).
