Zusammenfassung

Der Heparin-Cofaktor II ist ein heparinabhängiger Thrombininhibitor, der sich funktionell und strukturell von Antithrombin III (AT III) unterscheidet. Es handelt sich um ein Glykoprotein mit einem Molekulargewicht von ca. 66000, das in der Leber synthetisiert wird. Die Thrombin-Antithrombin-Inaktivierung wird bei beiden Proteaseninhibitoren durch die Gegenwart von Heparin und anderen Glycosaminoglycanen um ein vielfaches beschleunigt [1].
