Abstract

TEE offers new perspectives for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease. Direct visualization of the coronary arteries is a promising diagnostic approach for assessing the patency of the proximal segments of left and right coronary arteries. Coronary blood flow can be measured by pulsed-wave or color Doppler. The study of regional wall motion due to coronary disease can be performed by a transgastric view of the left ventricle.
