Combustion and Shock Waves in H2-O2-Steam Systems

Shock Waves @ Marseille II

Abstract

The burning velocities of stoichiometric H2-O2-steam mixtures with steam concentrations up to 70% (vol.) at elevated pressures and temperatures have been measured and the results compared with numerical calculations. The influence of thermal radiation and kinetic mechanism on the burning velocity was evaluated. The detonability of such mixtures at high initial pressure and temperature was checked.
