Two-Magnon Raman Scattering in Doped YBa2Cu3O x with Respect to Confined Hole Clusters

  • Conference paper
Phase Separation in Cuprate Superconductors

Summary

The 2-Magnon-Ramanscattering has been measured on single crystals of YBa2Cu3O x with different oxygen concentration. The decrease of scattering intensity upon doping can be interpreted as a reduction of antiferromagnetic ordered spin pairs and is in good agreement with recent neutron scattering results. On the other hand the change of complex zone-edge magnon energy indicates an itinerant character of the charge carriers which can be understood as an hoping tendency which is also responsible for the electrical conductivity.
