Zusammenfassung

Das kardiovaskuläre System zeigt, ebenso wie alle Körperfunktionen, zirkadiane und ultradiane Rhythmen. Diese sind bisher jedoch nur in Ansätzen untersucht und beschrieben bzw. in ihren physiologischen Grundlagen geklärt. Methodologische Probleme haben bis heute dazu beigetragen, daß hämodynamische Untersuchungen einerseits im Schlaf, aber auch im 24-h-Verlauf relativ selten durchgeführt werden, insbesondere wegen ihres hohen technischen und personellen Aufwandes.
