Zusammenfassung
Die Ausbreitung von Lichtwellen im Vakuum, wie sie durch die Maxwellschen Gleichungen beschrieben wird, erfolgt grundsätzlich linear. Lichtwellen im Vakuum können sich demnach ohne gegenseitige Beeinflussimg überlagern und durchdringen. Zwar gibt es nach der Quantenelektrodynamik auch eine Wechselwirkung zwischen Photonen, d.h. Streuung von Licht an Licht; sie ist aber bei allen praktisch erreichbaren Lichtintensitäten völlig zu vernachlässigen.
