Abstract
Myokymia may occur in numerous muscles innervated by cranial and spinal nerves, but it is seen most commonly in those innervated by the facial nerve. The presence of facial myokymia indicates a lesion involving the facial nerve, either within the pons or peripherally, and can be helpful in identifying the nature of the underlying problem.
