Zusammenfassung
Unter den zahlreichen dermatologischen Krankheitsbildern hat die Psoriasis seit mehr als 100 Jahres größtes wissenschaftliches Interesse gefunden. Dabei gestaltete sich die Aufschlüsselung von Ursache und Pathogenese als mühsam und vermittelte neben zahlreichen Irrtümern nur zögernd Einblick in die zugrundeliegenden Mechanismen dieser Erkrankung. Zu den bemerkenswertesten Beobachtungen der jüngsten Zeit zählen die Assoziation bestimmter Psoriasisformen mit dem HLA-System, weiterhin die Tatsache, daß psoriatische Haut reich ist an verschiedenen proentzündlichen Zytokinen, sowie der Befund einer relativen Häufung von aktivierten T-Zellen auch in der psoriatischen Epidermis.
