Endosonographie bei Oesophagus- und Magenerkrankungen

Summary

Endosonography (EUS) enables to differentiate between submucosal tumor of esophagus and stomach and external impression or infiltration. The EUS in achalasia is helpful for the exclusion of carcinoma of the cardia. EUS is frequently used in tumor staging and at time represents the most effective procedure in the evalution of the T- and N-category in esophageal (acurracy T: 85%, N: 80%) and gastric cancer (acurracy T: 78%, N: 73%). For the evaluation of the M-category the computertomography still is absolutely essential.

Zusammenfassung

Eine Differenzierung zwischen submukösem Tumor von Oesophagus und Magen und einer Impression bzw. Infiltration von außen ist mittels Endosonographie (EUS) gut möglich. Bei der Achalasie liegt die Bedeutung der EUS im Ausschluß eines Cardiotumors. Hauptanwendungsgebiet der Endosonographie ist das Tumorstaging. Sie stellt das derzeit genaueste Verfahren zur Bestimmung der T- und N-Kategorie beim Oesophagus- (Treffsicherheit T: 85%, N: 80%) und Magencarcinom (Treffsicherheit T: 78%, N: 73%) dar. Für die Beurteilung der M-Kategorie ist nach wie vor die Computertomographie unerläßlich.
