Zusammenfassung

Der Mensch besitzt über drei anatomisch getrennt gebaute Sinnesorgane mit oral-nasal verteilten Rezeptoren Kontakt zu seiner chemischen Umwelt. Nur wenige Menschen sind allerdings befähigt, eine einigermaßen präzise Differenzierung und verbale Konkretisierung ihrer geruchlichen, geschmacklichen oder nasal-oral-schleimhautreizenden Empfindungen vorzunehmen. Etwa 1% einer Bevölkerung (USA) leidet an einer Störung von Geruchs- und/oder Geschmackssinn [236].
