Ein linear unabhängiges Tripel (\(({{\rm{\vec x}}^{{\rm{(1)}}}},{{\rm{\vec x}}^{{\rm{(2)}}}},{{\rm{\vec x}}^{{\rm{(3)}}}})\)) von Vektoren des ℝ3 nennt man Rechtssystem, falls \({{\rm{\vec x}}^{{\rm{(1)}}}}\), \({{\rm{\vec x}}^{{\rm{(2)}}}}\) und \({{\rm{\vec x}}^{{\rm{(3)}}}}\) in dieser Reihenfolge wie Daumen, Zeigefinger und Mittelfinger der rechten Hand liegen.
