Abstract
The processes of resonant dtμ, molecule formation tμ, + XD → [(dtμ)xee] are considered and their rates λ dtμ-x are calculated as a function of the tμ, mesic atom energy and the temperature of H 2 + D 2 + T 2 mixture. It is shown that at kinetic energies of tμ-atoms of E ~ 0.1 – 0.3 eV the resonant rates λ dtμ-x reach values of 109 – 1010s‒1. At T = 900 K the resonant formation rate λ dtμ-p averaged over the Maxwellian distribution on tμ, atom energies is 2.3 109 s ‒1. The consequences of these results are discussed.
