Abstract
We have fabricated dc SQUIDs based on YBa2Cu3O7−x thin films with step edge junctions on steps on (100) SrTiO3 substrates. The steps were etched by ion milling, the YBa2Cu3O7−x films were inhibit layer patterned and deposited by laser ablation. The SQUIDs show perfect periodic flux-voltage characteristics in the temperature range between 4.2 K and 63 K. The voltage-flux transfer function was 3.3 mV/Φ0 and 12 µV/0Φ0 at 4.2 K and 63 K, respectively.
