Abstract

Different resection techniques are important when choosing a method of surgical treatment for patients with chronic pancreatitis, periampullary tumors, and tumors of the pancreatic head. At present, the progress in diagnostic techniques enables small tumors to be revealed in the early stages of disease and differentiated preoperatively from inflammatory processes by means of target punctures and histologic study of a pathologic focus.
