Seit Generationen haben ärztliche Forscher und forschende Ärzte mit wissenschaftlichen Arbeitsweisen neue Erkenntnisse, neue Verfahren und neue Arzneistoffe entwickelt. Auch nichtärztliche Forscher haben dazu Beiträge geleistet — Pasteur war nicht Arzt, sondern „nur“ Chemiker und Biologe.
