Zusammenfassung
Metastasen sind die weitaus häufigste Tumormanifestation des Skelettsystems. Mehr als die Hälfte aller Krebskranken wird im Verlauf ihrer Erkrankung eine Skelettmetastasierung erfahren. Die Behandlung der Skelettmetastasen erfordert ein enges Zusammenwirken verschiedener Disziplinen. Gefordert sind neben dem primär Behandelnden die diagnostische und die therapeutische Radiologie, der Chirurg oder chirurgisch tätige Orthopäde sowie der internistische Onkologe.
