Kurzfassung
Die Dokumentenarchitektur ODA, die als ein internationaler Standard den Dokumentenaustausch in offenen Netzen ermöglichen soll, gewinnt gegenwärtig einen immer stärkeren Einfluß auf den Bercich der Bürokommunikation. Sowohl neue Applikationen, die unmittelbar auf dieser Architektur basieren, als auch Konverter, die die Brücke zu gegebenen Anwendungen schlagen, werden im Rahmen von europäischen Kooperationsprojckten entwickelt. Zusätzlich besitzt ODA auch einen Einfluß auf Herstellerarchitekturcn und zukunftsorientierte Anwendungen wie Hypertextsystemc. Insbesondere in Bezug auf derartige, neue Anwendungsbereiche zeigen sich aber auch die Grenzen der Architektur. In diesem Beitrag werden Erfahrungen aus der Mitarbeit an europäischen Kooperationsprojekten wiedergegeben, die die obigen Aspekte der Verwendung von ODA als Basis für die Bürokommunikation beleuchten.
