Zusammenfassung
Die Frage, welche der zur Durchführung operativer Eingriffe zur Auswahl stehenden Anästhesiemethoden in einer gegebenen Situation anderen Verfahren vorzuziehen ist, beschäftigt unseren Berufsstand seit seinem Bestehen. Bis heute ist es nicht gelungen, Vor-und Nachteile der in Konkurrenz zueinander stehenden Verfahren der Regional-und Allgemeinanästhesie so gegeneinander abzuwägen, daß Einigkeit darüber besteht, ob die Durchführung eines bestimmten Verfahrens für einen definierten chirurgischen Eingriff meßbare Vorteile vor einer anderen Anästhesie-form bietet, vorausgesetzt natürlich, daß beide Verfahren für den operativen Eingriff prinzipiell geeignet sind.
