Zusammenfassung

Vaskulitiden sind Erkrankungen, die durch entzündliche Veränderungen der Blutgefäße gekennzeichnet sind. Arterien und Venen aller Kaliber sowie unterschiedlicher Lokalisation können beteiligt sein. Klinisch umfaßt der Begriff Vaskulitis daher ein breites, ätiologisch, histologisch, klinisch und prognostisch heterogenes Spektrum von Erkrankungen, unter denen sich jedoch mehrere Entitäten abgrenzen lassen. Der entzündliche Gefäßprozeß kann akut oder chronisch ablaufen, er kann auf ein einzelnes Organ beschränkt sein oder an mehreren Organen auftreten. Vaskulitiden können ein primäres Krankheitsgeschehen darstellen oder sekundär im Gefolge einer anderen Grunderkrankung ablaufen.
