Das Wiener Modell: Ein interdisziplinäres Betreuungskonzept für werdende Eltern bei Diagnose „fetale Mißbildung“

Zusammenfassung

Fetale Mißbildungen, wie sie heute mittels Ultraschall, Chorionzottenbiopsie und Amniozentese erhoben werden können, haben gravierende psychische Auswirkungen auf die betroffenen Eltern und das medizinische System. Insbesondere der unmittelbare emotionale Aufruhr behindert eine angemessene Betreuung. Die Grundzüge unseres präventiv und kurativ wirksamen Betreuungsmodells werden vorgestellt: Interdisziplinäre Kooperation, kontinuierliche Begleitung, Familien-und Paarorientierung, Durcharbeiten von Schuld- und Schamgefühlen, Abschied und Trauerarbeit vom Fetus. Dies fördert die Integration dieses traumatischen Lebensereignisses ins Selbst Begleitende ethische Fragen werden in die Diskussion miteinbezogen.

Summary

Fetal malformation, which can be detected by sonography, chorion biopsy and amniocentesis, has marked psychic effects both on the parents and on the medical system. Particularly the immediate emotional upheaval blocks adequate counseling. The basic concepts of our efficacious preventive and curative counseling program are delineated: interdisciplinary cooperation, continuous counseling, family and pair orientation, working through feelings of guilt and shame, taking one’s leave of the fetus and mourning for it. All this promotes the integration of this traumatic experience into one’s self. Accompanying ethical questions are raised and discussed.
