Electron and positron impact experiments on metallic foils at the giessen positron source TEPOS
The sources TEPOS for slow positrons were installed at the Giessen 65 MeV electron linear accelerator. Ratios of K- and L-shell ionization cross-sections by electron and positron impact were measured on Au-/Ag-foils as function of the incident projectile energy. With energies near threshold a departure is observed of the ratio σ (e-)/σ(e+) from unity (increasing with decreasing energy).
