Zusammenfassung
Seit Anfang der 70er Jahre gab es in der ehemaligen DDR eine Entwicklung von Datenbank-Software. Initiiert wurde sie wie vieler— orts in der Welt durch die Probleme bei der Verwaltung von Daten der technologischen Vorbereitung der Produktion. Ein Hauptvertreter war das Datenbankbetriebssystem/Robotron (DBS/R) /BitKra78/, ein typisches Mainframe-DBMS der ersten Generation. Ausgeprägte Merkmale waren u.a. das stark verfeinerte Netzwerkdatenmodell, ein Dictionary System und ein Integritätssystem mit den Recovery-Verfahren R1 bis R4 /Reuter81/.
