To analyze a system one must primarily define the purpose or goals which those using the system wish to attain. Renal replacement therapy (RRT) is such a system, and, thus, has to be defined in terms of its clients as well as of the agencies responsible for maximum efficacy for both parties. If one regards the suppositions of RRT presently practised in Germany, the following hypotheses have to be taken in account.
