Abstract
The order Rutales includes 12 families distributed in three suborders. Rutineae comprises seven families — Rutaceae, Cneoraceae, Simaroubaceae, Picro-dendraceae, Burseraceae, Meliaceae and Akaniaceae; Malpighiineae three families — Malpighiaceae, Trigoniaceae and Vochysiaceae; and Polygalineae two families — Tremandraceae and Polygalaceae.
