Abstract

In the study of American literature on ecology, the increasing importance of papers on community ecology is striking, not so much focusing the assemblages of species populations occurring together in space and time, but more describing and discussing the food webs and communities on different trophic levels in terms of their standing crop and the rate of production. There are to date comparably few publications combining the different floristic and energetic approaches.
