Zusammenfassung
Die Photodynamische Therapie (PDT) stellt eine vielversprechende Behandlungsform für eine Reihe von malignen Tumoren dar. Neben der Behandlung von Augen-, Harnblasen und Lungentumoren gibt es erste Berichte über den Einsatz dieser Behandlungsmethode bei Tumoren des oberen Gastrointestinaltraktes [1]. Das Therapieprinzip basiert auf einer Anreicherung eines Photosensibilisators im Tumorgewebe und Bestrahlung mit Licht spezifischer Wellenlänge. Nach intravenöser Gabe des Photosensibilisators und einer Retentionszeit von 24–72 h erfolgt die Lichtbehandlung mit einem Farbstofflaser bei einer Wellenlänge von 630 nm. Es wird angenommen, daß durch eine photochemische Reaktion Singulettsauerstoff entsteht und dieser „aktive“ Sauerstoff mit Zellmembranen und anderen Zellstrukturen reagiert. Berichte über in vivo Untersuchungen an experimentell erzeugten Tiertumormodellen sprechen für einen primär von den Tumorgefäßen ausgehenden Schädigungsprozeß.
