The Role of Oxygen Activated Species in Endotoxin Induced Modulation of Antioxidant Enzymes Activity

Abstract

Oxygen activated species are mediators of various events following different immunomodulators administration. However, their role in the endotoxin induced alterations in antioxidant enzyme activities has not been examined. The aim of the pilot study was to investigate superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione transferase (GT) activities in peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) after injection of Klebsiel1a pneumoniae endotoxin.
