Zusammenfassung
Die noch recht junge Umweltinformatik kann auf eine umfangreiche und erfolgreiche Forschungstätigkeit zurückblicken; sie ist anerkannt und befindet sich, anders als verschiedene Technikwissenschaften, in keinem Rechtfertigungsnotstand. Im Gegenteil, die Akzeptanz in der Öffentlichkeit ist eher hoch.
