Zusammenfassung

Nach den tragischen Rückschlägen in der Hämophilietherapie durch Hepatitis und AIDS, wurde durch die Herstellung des rekombinanten F. VIII wieder Licht auf das Spektrum der therapeutischen Möglichkeiten der Hämophilie geworfen. Die Entwicklung des rekombinanten F. VIII könnte ein Höhepunkt in der Geschichte der Hämophilietherapie bedeuten. Gegenüber den aus Plasma gewonnenen Konzentraten, werden folgende Vorteile erwartet: Hohe Reinheit, Infektionssicherheit, niedrige Kosten und ein unbegrenzter Vorrat.
