Abstract

Internal mammary artery bypass grafts implanted onto the left anterior descending coronary artery have shown superior longterm patency rates as compared to all other grafts and substitutes, resulting in improved long-term survival rates. The current trend to expanded internal mammary artery grafting using both internal mammary arteries is a logical step for further improvement of the results in coronary artery revascularization procedures.
