The Open Packing — Laparostomy —

Abstract

The management of patients with severe necrotizing pancreatitis is at present not at all a clear cut matter. It is difficult to decide on the therapy because of the very individual and not comparable courses the disease may take. Little is known about the natural course of necrotizing pancreatitis [1]. Ten years ago in most institutions patients were operated on early in the beginning of the disease with unsatisfying and difficult to interpret results [2].
