Zusammenfassung
Die Entwicklung hochauflösender, gassterilisierbarer Schallapplikatoren mit gutem Auflösungsvermögen im Nahbereich Ende der 70er Jahre ermöglichte den Einsatz der Sonographie während operativer Eingriffe. Neurochirurgen, Urologen und auch Chirurgen machten sich dieses bildgebende Verfahren während der Operation zunutze. In der Chirurgie wurde die intraoperative Ultraschalluntersuchung (IOUS) in der Leberchirurgie, v.a. in der Chirurgie von Lebermetastasen, in der Pankreas-, Gallenwegs- und Gefäßchirurgie angewandt. Bedeutung hat die IOUS in der Leber- und Pankreaschirurgie, v.a. der Chirurgie der endokrinen Pankreastumoren erlangt.
