Zusammenfassung
Unter einem Arbeitsplatzsystem soll im folgenden ein auf Rechnerbasis aufgebautes System am Arbeitsplatz verstanden werden. Es gibt weder eine Einschränkung in Bezug auf Rechner noch auf Arbeitsplatz, d. h. es kommen einfache Rechner bis hin zu Hochleistungsrechnern in Betracht und Arbeitsplätze überdecken das ganze Spektrum von Büro, Haus, Haushalt, Auto, Fabrik, unterwegs (portabel), Flugzeug, etc.
