Zusammenfassung

Die von Grüntzig begründete Angioplastik mit Hilfe von Baiionkathetern [1] hat die Durchführung nichtoperativer Revaskularisationsmaßnahmen in einem noch vor wenigen Jahren für undenkbar gehaltenen Umfang ermöglicht. Das Verfahren hat sich besonders bei koronaren Durchblutungsstörungen im Lauf von zehn Jahren rapid verbreitet. Diese Verbreitung ist hauptsächlich deswegen gerechtfertigt, weil die jetzt beurteilbaren Langzeitergebnisse größtenteils ausgezeichnet sind.
