Zusammenfassung
Trotz verbesserter und intensivierter pränataler Diagnostik, Aufbau von spezialisierten Notarztsystemen, intensiver ärztlicher Weiterbildung und verbesserten anästhesiologisch-intensivmedizinischen Möglichkeiten ist die Letalität der kongenitalen Zwerchfellhernie über Jahrzehnte gleich hoch geblieben [4, 5, 6, 13, 23, 26, 28, 31, 33, 34, 37, 38]. Diese erstaunliche Entwicklung ist nur damit erklärbar, daß heute Neugeborene mit dieser vitalbedrohlichen Mißbildung kinderchirurgische Zentren erreichen und dann in die Letalitätsstatistik eingehen, die bislang postpartal ohne Diagnostik und therapeutische Intervention starben [19].
