Factors Influencing the Course of AD

  • Chapter
Essential Aspects of Atopic Dermatitis

Abstract

Experience has shown that several factors may influence the course of the disease, acting as triggers or having a beneficial effect, and as most of these are known also to play some part in the obscure and complex etiology of AD, no sharp distinction can usually by drawn between etiological factors (mentioned in Sect. 5.8) and those influencing the course. However, as the latter usually have no primary causal importance, it seems more practical to include them in a separate chapter.
