Angiography has progressed to ever more differentiated and meticulous diagnostic procedures. The first examination of postmortem arteries in 1896 by Haschek and Lindenthal was followed 27 years later by the first usable angiograms in patients by Berberich and Hirsch . Interventional angiography developed over a period of 10 years from the first vascular dilatation by Dotter and Judkins [126–130] to the introduction of various angiographic methods, such as embolization , mechanical thrombus extraction [14, 36, 47, 55, 64], laser therapy [1–6, 24–26], and stent implantation [65, 123, 145, 297–299, 353].
