Abstract

Tuberculosis is a generalized disease with local manifestations. Villemin (1865) was the first to prove in animal experiments that tuberculosis is a contagious disease. Koch (1882) discovered the tubercle bacillus and thereby brought about a revolution in medical science. Nevertheless, many mysteries are still to be solved.
