Abstract
The Calculus of Communicating Systems (CCS) [1] of Milner led to many variants, like the Language of Temporal Ordering Specification [2] of the ISO or Timed LOTOS [3] of Quemada-Fernandez. This last variant introduces time intervals on event offers. We first informally motivate the need for a new variant. Then we present four alternative operators to timed LOTOS, that try to suit more accurately the characteristics of current operating systems. Finally, we show, by means of a small example, that the above operators effectively allow to cope with real-time constraints.
