Abstract
Potassium, sodium and chloride cellular leak pathways and their components, (Na,K)-pump steady state rate of pumping, apparent maximum velocity, affinity for Na and affinity for other ligands (ouabain) are measured in whole cells using electron probe analysis. The general method for electron probe analysis of cultured cells has been described in several application and review articles (Abraham et al., 1985; Larsson, L. et al., 1986; Larsson, S. et al., 1986; Lechene, 1986; Lechene, 1988).
