Spinal Dysraphism — Assessment of the Role of MR Imaging

Abstract

The spinal dysraphisms represent a complex array of abnormalities related to disordered embryogenesis of the spine. Traditionally CT assisted myelography (CTM) has been employed in our institution to investigate patients with these lesions. The recent introduction of MRI has led us to undertake a comparative assessment of these two techniques in order to establish a rational approach to the investigation of this group of patients.
