Abstract
Imaging of cerebral gliomas by CT, MRI and angiography provides valuable diagnostic information, which however can be used to predict tumour biology only in an indirect and empirical way. An increasing number of tracers developed for positron emission tomography (PET) can give more direct, and in many cases more specific, information about tumour biology. They may also aid in evaluating the effects of therapy on the tumor and on the surrounding brain.
