A 54-year-old man working in a photographic laboratory developed eczema on both hands and on his face and, 2 years later, vitiligo-like macules on the same areas. Patch tests were positive to several colour developers, but not to p-phenylene-diamine or to hydroquinone. Two months later, lichenoid reactions were observed at the site of positive patch tests, but no achromia. Progressive repigmentation occurred over the following months.
