Abstract
For those accustomed to the standard planes of section in abdominal ultrasound, we present diagrams that will aid in understanding the various transducer-dependent image planes that are employed in endosonography. An accurate description of the scan planes is crucial for spatial orientation in the lesser pelvis and for the interpretation of recorded images.
