Zusammenfassung
Verschiedene Syndrome mit schmalem Thorax können zu respiratorischer Insuffizienz und zum Tod kurz nach der Geburt führen (Kaufmann et al. 1974; Spranger et al. 1974a). Dabei handelt es sich meist urn genetisch bedingte Entwicklungsstörungen des Skeletts. Das Knochengewebe ist guantitativ oder gualitativ falsch angelegt, und meist kommt es durch Wachstumsstörungen zu Skelettmißbildungen, welche bei den verschiedenen Typen unterschiedlich lokalisiert und verschieden schwer ausgeprägt sind (Spranger et al. 1974b).
